10 Things of Thankful
I am no good at doing a thing on a schedule, so I am just jumping in here and jumping out but....
Here are my "10 Things of Thankful" (Inspired by Lizzy from The Considerer) for this week:
I am terribly thankful for:
1. My hubby. He puts up with a lot sometimes! Imagine being married to a girl who sometimes sees the world in a tad too negative light, a girl who has approximately 3,897 odd idiosyncrasies, and dreams of one day running her own petting zoo. Well, that's me in a nutshell and I have always been a hard one to keep up with. But he has done a wonderful job at always being there and understanding, even when I don't get why I feel the way I do!
2. Nature. One of God's glorious gift to mankind. Having recently gone camping, the smell of cedar and pine and the feel of the cold creek is still fresh in my mind. For me, no luxurious mansions or fancy food could ever compare with it.
3. Hands. I am thankful for my hands, and I wish sometimes that I put them to better use. But because of them I have a job, can turn the pages of a book, or pet my animals and all sorts of other useful things.
4. People. Yes, me, the socially-awkward and have been since forever, is thankful for people. Conversations, smiles, body language. It really is all so interesting. Everyone has a story - one must only listen for it.
5. Water. Since the heavy rains have come and gone and left us again dry, my thankfulness for water is remembered again. Without it, we would not be. I love the sound of a trickling creek or a rushing rain storm. Water is wonderful!
6. Homemade items. Homemade jam, patchwork quilts, hand sewn dresses. Such simple things but made with the care and concern no factory can ever replicate.
7. Bed. I love sleep, it is no secret. I am so thankful I have a comfy, cushy bed to dive into for a nap or a nightly snooze. Actually, as I sit here typing this I am pretty sure my mind is already there. Haha!
8. Friends. We are all thankful for them, but they can never be mentioned enough. I could never make it through the tough times (or even the funny times) without wonderful, caring friends.
9. Sun. I know it is really hot and dry right now for most of us, but I am still thankful for the sun. I always miss its warmth when dark, gray winter rolls in. I am not ready for summer to leave just yet!
10. Cleaning. I am not able to clean as much as I would like, but when I get the chance it is so therapeutic. If only I could keep up with it with everything else that is always going on!
That does it for my 10 things this week. It has been a really good week and I am just feeling particularly thankful this week and wanted to share. What are you thankful for?

Great list! My hubby, nature, and animals are always at the top of my list :) Love that cute photo of you guys and your adorable animals!
ReplyDeleteAww thank you! I know, I think my list is often the same, but those things just deserve to be at the top. :)
DeleteOh my word, I can't tell you how much I enjoy the fact your husband is holding a chicken in the photo! I'm beginning to think you aren't the only one who would be happy owning a petting zoo. (I may be a chicken owner, but I don't hold any chickens!)
ReplyDeleteYour list is marvelous. I found myself agreeing with them all. The "people" explanation threw me, though. So many people who write blogs consider themselves awkward in social situations. I never would have guessed.
BTW, this isn't linked up with the hop yet. I'm sure there are others who would love to read it, if you do want to link up.
Oh yes, thank you!! I added it just now. Forgot all about that part - heehee!
DeleteAnd yes, hubby has said before he rather liked the idea of a petting zoo. Now if only we could get our hands on a cheap 500 acres or so... ha!
I sometimes forget to link my own up and I'm a host....
Delete...and even when you do (forget) your url is so scared of the reaction, it will go out and find Lizzi's site by itself.... lol
Delete(no! Dyanne.... don't get up, I've got it!) "oh Lana don't mind him... he's like that a lot, but you get used to to it"
lololol
DeleteThanks, Lizzy!! I always enjoy getting to do these.
ReplyDeleteA lovely list! What a darling picture of the two of you! I am especially interested in the markings on your cat. She doesn't know if she's a calico or a tabby, does she?
ReplyDeleteShe is a very interesting color! She is very uniquely colored, for sure!
DeleteI so wish to have a few more hours in the day to do more crafting. Just picked up a knitting / felting project and still need to saw the tooth pillow for the girl with the loose tooth ;-) I made some blackberry jam with our older daughter a few weeks ago, spontaneous decision, and it was awesome!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week on your little patch of awesomeness!
Aww thank you, Stephanie!
DeleteThis is a great list! So glad you joined up.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kristi!
DeleteI'm with you on all of them. Especially understanding hubby's, nature and the Sun. I love the sun. Great photo. Glad the cat and bird get along. :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, they sort of get along. Siri is a bit of a stinker and likes to chase the chickens sometimes.
Deletea very refreshingly direct list of 'Thankfuls' welcome to the TToT! we are an ...interesting group of people here.
ReplyDeleteglad to have you join us!
I had great fun joining! :)
DeleteSUCH a great list! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kari!
DeleteHaving just attended AWBU, I'm thankful for my voice, friends, and support.
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful thankful things!
DeleteI love your list:) Many wks my lists are pretty basic, too. I love my bed, too...we have such a great relationship:)
ReplyDeleteHaha oh I know how that is. Bedtime is beautiful lol!
DeleteI've been out of the loop on your life! Just got back from a work trip in Cleveland and haven't had time to update anything! :) Just now getting to read all your posts. Hope you've been doing great. Love your list.
