Friday Favorites
I feel like it has been ages since my last post! We have been so busy! (Surprise, surprise haha.) But I wanted to just give an animal update and a week recap on this lovely Friday.
Last Friday, Ben and I went on a MUCH needed date! We went to a place in Fayetteville called Bordino's with fine Italian cuisine. It was so delicious! Although, Ben and I did burst into laughter a few times because we would drop or spill something and we just felt so out of place. I told Ben I really belonged in a place that is much less stuffy, but it was fun to get all fixed up and go anyhow!
After our dinner we went to see the new Superman movie. It was pretty good! I liked that the hero was a true hero... not just because he has other-wordly powers, but also because he tries to be a good person.
Fast forward to Monday, and you'll find us getting a "bad things come in threes" sort of day. Ben had a couple of flat tires, the central AC went out, and Siri was acting sick. THANKFULLY everything got fixed with minimal cost. Siri is doing great too, thank goodness, because let's just be honest - if something ever happens to that precious cat I am going to be a mess. Also, I am so thankful that my Dad is trained to work on AC units. Talk about a huge money saver!!
Another thing I have really enjoyed this past week is the Mini Horse 2013 Nationals Show in Tulsa. If you click the link, you can get a live video of the show they are on now. The best ones are the costume contests and the coolest one was the chariot races. So awesome! I dream of getting to show in Nationals one day, either with a mini of my own or for someone else. Bill is too big to be considered a mini horse so unfortunately it can't be him, but I might be able to show him in some paint classes one day! I just love little horses. :)
And now for an update on the animals today:
That does it for updates and recaps! Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend.

And now for an update on the animals today:
Some of the babies from Mrs. Pott's first batch. Getting big! |
The geese. |
Bill!! Not the best shot, but he is such a cutie! |
The chickens love napping under this bush, as you can probably tell! Haha! |
Random... but I have successfully mastered the art of the homemade pizza! |
Your chickens are goooorgeous!!! I just love them. And a mini horse show sounds right up my alley. I think they are just so cute! I make homemade pizza all the time :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think they are gorgeous too! :) Oh the mini shows are so fun to watch. I love how preciously tiny they all are!
DeleteHi, Lana! I have to second what OMOTW said about your gorgeous chickens. And thanks for turning me on to the Mini Horse Nationals. I can't wait until we can move to our land so I have some minis. They are so adorable!
ReplyDeleteThey are adorable! I would love lots of them as well. We hope one day we can get our hands on some land and have lots more critters!
DeleteYay a new post! That picture of the chickens under the bush is great, a framer! Pizza looks delicious :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Donna! The pizza was good, btw :D
DeleteIt is fun to get dressed up and fancy every once in a while, even if you do keep dropping things. :)
ReplyDeleteI love those puffy-headed chickens!
It is fun! We had such a blast. :)
DeleteYou should watch the National Paint Horse competition live. It is amazing. If you read my last blog, it was about chairing a open pleasure show that had all breeds. Many of these people use these shows to get points for their horses that are registered. We now need to see a picture of you on that horse.
ReplyDeleteBill is much too small for me to ride, but he does pull a cart! He has been shy since we bought him though so right now we are still working on his trust.
DeleteI love your pictures. Pinning all of them - LOL.
ReplyDeleteAww you are sweet! I have been trying to find you on Pinterest...
DeleteThanks Lizzy!! :D
ReplyDeleteThe pizza looks delicious...please share your recipe! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't believe how big the chicks are getting. It seems like just yesterday they were so small and tiny!
Glad ya'll had fun on your date night. I enjoyed the superman movie, too!
