First Time to Free-Range!

I decided to let the juveniles free-range under close supervision yesterday evening.  I had to really watch them... as soon as I let them out a hawk flew over and took a good look around, and countless times one of the Spitz's kept going into the dog yard.  But at the end of the day, everyone returned to the coop safe and sound.

I snapped a few pictures of their outing!

Not sure why the camera picked up that blue...

Pearl was rather interested in the new chickens.
Then I checked on the garden and did some de-weeding.  We will be able to eat a few radishes soon!

Such a beautiful day!

  3. Your chickens are so cute! That black and white one is awesome! And Pearl is definitely a cutie too :) I let my juveniles out with the other chickens to free range last night for the first time and it went really well! They all went back inside when I shook the treat jar so I'm glad I didn't have to chase them all down haha.
