First Time to Free-Range!
I decided to let the juveniles free-range under close supervision yesterday evening. I had to really watch them... as soon as I let them out a hawk flew over and took a good look around, and countless times one of the Spitz's kept going into the dog yard. But at the end of the day, everyone returned to the coop safe and sound.
I snapped a few pictures of their outing!
Then I checked on the garden and did some de-weeding. We will be able to eat a few radishes soon!

Not sure why the camera picked up that blue... |
Pearl was rather interested in the new chickens. |

Such a beautiful day! |
My radishes don't look nearly that good!
ReplyDeleteMmm I sure am ready to eat them! Are yours not big yet? Last year a lot of mine split.
DeleteThose Spitzhaubens are gorgeous! What a beautiful breed.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Ever since I saw one at the fair (and bought it) I have been in love with their breed. They are awesome!
DeleteYour chickens are so cute! That black and white one is awesome! And Pearl is definitely a cutie too :) I let my juveniles out with the other chickens to free range last night for the first time and it went really well! They all went back inside when I shook the treat jar so I'm glad I didn't have to chase them all down haha.
ReplyDeleteHaha I know the chase them down feeling. All. too. well. Haha!
